PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES

Teachers assess children’s developmental progress each week. Student’s

 developmental skills are tracked in 7 areas (Mathematical Thinking, Language and Literacy, Music & Art, Scientific Thinking, Social Studies, Physical Development - Health and Safety, and Personal/Social Development). Tender Loving Care uses an online assessment tool called Work Sampling to assist with monitoring children’s progress. Each week indicators are selected that correspond with the weekly topic and children’s skills are assessed and uploaded into the computer. At least twice a year teachers meet with parents to update them on their child’s developmental progress and any activities that could be helpful that parents can do with them at home.
