Fall Festival

Tender Loving Care has a Fall Festival where the children get to dress up in their Halloween Costumes and play lots of fun games! The children then get to have a party in their classrooms. 

Thanksgiving Feast

The children study Pilgrims and Indians and learn about how much the first Pilgrims had to be thankful for. Then they discuss how much they are thankful for themselves. The students then get to choose what they are going to have for their Thanksgiving Feast and then they help make their own desserts. 

Christmas Party

The children have a Christmas celebration where they exchange gifts and have a party to begin their holiday celebrations. 

Hibernation Day

The children study about different types of bears, their similarities and differences, their habitats, the food they eat, and hibernation. The students then have a special “Hibernation Day” where they wear their pajamas to school. 

100th Day of School

Each day the children keep record of how many days they have been in school. They use tally marks, chain links, counting by 5's and counting by 10's. On the 100th day of school, they have a party. The children bring 100 of the same type of small items to school to show friends. They sort the items into stacks of 10 and then count them by 10's. Children can also dress up with 100 items on shirts or sweatshirts and participate in a fashion show. 

Valentine’s Day

The children study about Valentine’s Day and Post Offices. On Valentine’s Day they have a party where they exchange Valentines and treats with their friends. 

Mother-Child Tea

The children study about manners and beauty shops. The mothers come to the center and make a special craft with their child. The children then perform for the mothers, read two books, have a dance, take fancy pictures and then have a special lunch with their mother. 

Easter Egg Hunt & Party

The children study about rabbits, chickens, eggs and Easter and then they have an Easter Egg Hunt. Afterwards, they sort the eggs by color and graph their favorite candy. The children have a special celebration and party as they prepare for the holiday.

Daddy Dog Day

The children study about various sports. The daddys come to the center and make a craft with their child. They then read two books, and play wiffle ball outside on the playground. Afterwards they have a picnic lunch together and play on the play equipment. 

Water Day

The children have a special outside water day at the end of the semester. There are different water toys and equipment for them to play with as they begin the summer festivities. 

Ice Cream Day

The children study about how ice cream is made and what makes ice cream freeze. The children make homemade ice cream during the week and vote on their favorite topping. The Ice Cream truck comes and the children get to choose their favorite type of ice cream.

Graduation

At the end of the school year, Tender Loving Care has a preschool graduation program. The children perform for their family and friends. The children receive their graduation certificate and have pictures made as they begin the next journey in their life.
