HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS

The Handwriting Without Tears program provides children with the skills necessary to be successful with handwriting in school. It is designed to progress a child’s fine motor skills along with visual skills through fun, interactive activities. It gives children opportunities to practice skills like how to hold a writing tool, pincher grasp, hand dominance, pre-writing strokes, forming shapes and forming letters. 

Public schools no longer make handwriting a primary focus. Instead, they focus on Keyboarding Without Tears because the school is graded on the children’s 3rd grade Benchmark scores which takes place on the computer. So, it is important for children to be able to practice handwriting skills in the early years.
