Firemen

The students learn about firemen and fire safety, the names of their gear and what it is used for. Students also learn about fire extinguishers and how to use them. Student’s learn about the components of a fire and how to put out a campfire. The firemen demonstrate how they look and sound when they are in their fire uniforms. They also get to see the fire engine and all the equipment. 

Police

As students learn about community helpers they learn about the job duties of police and how they help people. They get to see the police car and sit in it. 

Ambulance

Student’s learn about how paramedics and emergency medical technicians help people when they are in an accident or sick and can’t drive to the hospital. The children get to see various types of equipment inside an ambulance and learn what it is used for. 

Nurse

Students learn about doctors and nurses and how they use different types of tools and equipment to figure out what is wrong with a person when they are sick. They learn the names of different types of equipment and have the opportunity to experience how to use some of it. 

Veterinarian

The students study about different types of pets. Students learn how to care for their pets and the importance of taking them to the doctor just like they go to the doctor. The Veterinarian shares how to care for your pet and describes all the different types of animals they care for. Parents can also bring a family pet to show the children if approved by the director. 

Dental Hygienist

After Valentines Day, student’s learn about how sugar can harm their teeth and how to keep their teeth clean. They learn that their baby teeth will come out and they will only get one more set of teeth and they have to brush them and take good care of them. They learn about foods that are good for their teeth and foods that are bad for their teeth. A guest speaker from a local practice visits to demonstrate proper dental hygiene.

Beautician & Barber

Students study beauty shops and barber shops. They learn about caring for their own hair, different types of hair dos, how to use safely use various styling tools such as blow dryers, curling irons and hair straightners. The girls also learn about how to care for their nails and how to put on makeup.

Recycle Center

The children learn about why it is important to care for our environment and how to conserve water and how to recycle to save resources. The children learn where objects come from, how to sort various types of trash and the correct bins to put them in.
