The Arkansas Better Chance for School Success and Child Care Assistance programs are funded by the state of Arkansas to provide quality education to support children in attaining and maintaining grade level competence. Since this program is funded by the state, there are attendance requirements for the program.
Program arrival is from 7:45 a.m. until 8:15 a.m. First circle time begins at 8:15 a.m. This is an important part of the teaching time. Your child needs to have arrived and washed his/her hands prior to circle time. Children are considered late if they are not present by 8:15 a.m. If children are not present by 9:00 a.m., they are considered absent and will not be allowed to attend if they arrive later unless they have made previous arrangements with the director.
If a child is tardy five times, there will be a conference with the director. After five tardies, each additional two tardies constitutes an unexcused absence. If a child has 10 unexcused absences within the year, the child may be dropped from the program.
An excused absence consists of but is not limited to the following:
1. Communicable illnesses listed in the parent handbook.
2. Immediate family emergencies.
3. Death of a family member.
4. Other situations with prior approval from the director.
I _________________________________ understand and agree to abide by the above stated policy.
